PITTSFORD, New York—
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) and
Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) earned All-American honors Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship hosted by Nazareth University.
Giumenti competed in the mile coming into the meet ranked 19th out of 20. He then proceeded to make the finals today by getting a top four spot in his heat on Friday. Giumenti then proceeded to run a 4:11.87 in the finals finishing sixth overall earning his first All-American honor.
Mason competed in the 800-Meters and was ranked 11th out of 20. She qualified to the finals by having a top eight time in the prelims. Mason then ran a 2:12.03 in the finals earning seventh overall earning her first individual All-American honor.
Ryan McVicker (Dover) also competed for the Purple Raiders in the shot put on Saturday finishing 12th overall and tying his personal best with a throw of 53-feet 11.75-inches. McVicker came into the meet ranked 18th overall.
Mount Union will now look to possibly host an outdoor meet in Kehres Stadium next weekend.
