ASHLAND, Ohio—The Mount Union men's track and field team had eight top 10 performances at a mostly Division I and II meet at the Jud Logan Light Giver Open meet hosted by Ashland University.
The quartet of
Mason Kutz,
Haden Gibson,
Curtis Joppeck and
Vincent Giumenti took home second in the distance medley relay in a time of 9:53.10 which is currently the best time in the nation.
Ryan McVicker finished fourth overall and the top Division III athlete in the shot-put throwing 51-feet 9.25-inches which would be 25
th in Division III currently.
Joppeck and Giumenti came back in the 800-Meters and finished ninth and 13
th with times of 1:54.38 and 1:54.79 which was good for second and third amongst the Division III athletes.
Stephen Ulrich and
Cohen Boyce finished second and fourth in the 5,000-Meters running 15:12. 18 and 15:18.71 which was the top two Division III athletes.
Ryder Greenwood finished sixth overall in the 200-Meters and was the top Division III athlete with a time of 21.99. Greenwood came back in the 60-Meters and finished 11
th overall with a time of 6.96 and was the top Division III athlete once again.
The quartet of Greenwood, Isaac Pittman, Brailon Wilcox, and
Calil McCray finished sixth overall and the second Division III team in the 4x400-Meter relay with a time of 3:23.98.
Donovan Geiger finished ninth overall in the 400-Meters with a time of 49.27 and was the second Division III athlete to finish and took 23
rd overall in the 60-Meters with a time of 7.05 and was the third Division III athlete.
Mason Arth was the top Division III athlete in the heptathlon with a score of 4,312 which was 11
th overall in the meet.
Mount Union will head to Westerville next weekend for the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein on Saturday.
