GREENWOOD, Ind. – Mount Union's softball team had five players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team.
Seniors
Adri George (Eastlake / North) and
Tori Sickafoose (Magnolia / Sandy Valley) were both named, along with juniors
Chloe Bird (Norton),
Sydney Mercer (Salem / West Branch) and
Faith Reicosky (North Canton / Hoover).
George is a Primary Education and Intervention Specialist major with a 3.83 GPA. She played and started in all 42 games for the Purple Raiders this season, recording a .310 batting average with 40 hits in 129 at-bats. She also had 12 doubles, one triple and 34 RBIs this season and also became the career leader in RBIs, doubles, games played and fielding percentage at Mount Union this season. George was also named Honorable Mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC this season.
Sickafoose is also a Primary Education and Intervention Specialist major with a 3.98 GPA. She also played and started in all 42 games this season for the Raiders, recording a batting average of .304, with 35 hits in 115 at-bats, along with three doubles and 21 RBIs on the season. Sickafoose was also named Academic All-OAC this season.
Bird is a Media major with a 3.85 GPA. She made 17 appearances and eight starts in the circle for Mount Union this season. She recorded a 6-3 record with a 3.12 ERA across 49.1 innings pitched this season. Bird was also an Academic All-OAC honoree this season.
Mercer is a Management major with a 3.56 GPA. She played and started in all 42 games for the Raiders this season, she recorded a .444 batting average with 60 hits in 135 at-bats. She also had 16 doubles, five triples, three home runs, 37 RBIs and had 29 stolen bases this season. Mercer was also named First Team All-OAC, NFCA NCAA Division III All-Region VII Third Team and Academic All-OAC this season.
Reicosky is a Primary Education major with a 3.56 GPA. She played and started 41 games this season for Mount Union this season, recording a .369 batting average with 45 hits in 122 at-bats and also had four doubles, two triples, 25 RBIs and 12 stolen bases this season. Reicosky was also named Second Team All-OAC and Academic All-OAC this season.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025.
