LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Mount Union juniors
Kendyll Cahill (Groveport / Groveport Madison) and
Sydney Mercer (Salem / West Branch) were both named to the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association NCAA Division III All-Region VII teams.
Cahill was named Second Team, she played and started in 41 games for the Purple Raiders this season, including make 25 appearances and 18 starts in the circle. She put up a record of 17-6, with a 1.81 ERA and had 101 strikeouts in 139.1 innings pitched this season. Cahill also recorded a batting average of .339 with 15 doubles, five home runs and 32 RBIs on the season. She was also named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference and was named the John Wells Pitcher of the Year in the OAC earlier this season.
Mercer was named the Third Team, she played and started in all 42 games for Mount Union this season, she recorded a .444 batting average with 60 hits in 135 at-bats. She also had 16 doubles, five triples, three home runs, 37 RBIs and had 29 stolen bases this season. Mercer was also named First Team All-OAC earlier this season.
