Track and Field: Raiders Pick Up Plenty of Top Marks in Division III at Carnegie Mellon Invitation

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania— The Mount Union track and field team competed at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational Friday and Saturday with some top marks among the Division III athletes at the meet and across the country.
 
Maddy Miles, Kenadee Wayt, Kennedy Berger and Paula Incorvati won the women's 4x100-Meter relay with a time of 47.49 second which is ranked seventh in Division III.
 
Makayla Sitzlar finished fifth overall and the top Division III athlete in the women's shot put with a toss of 42-feet 10.25-inches which is ranked tied for fifth in Division III.
 
Ella McElwee, Carlie Besecker, Cora Liskai and Callie Cyrus teamed up together in the women's 4x400-Meter relay running a 3:55.56 finishing second and was the top Division III team. They are currently ranked ninth in Division III.
 
Tex Malloy, Brady Burrey, Brailon Wilcox and Ryder Greenwood finished second behind Division I Pittsburgh in the men's 4x100-Meter relay with a time of 41.63 ranking 10th overall in Division III.
 
Xavier Neal finished fifth overall and second of Division III athletes in the men's triple jump with a leap of 45-feet 7.75-inches which is ranked tied for 14th in Division III.
 
Burrey finished fourth overall in the men's javelin and was second out of the Division III athltes with a toss of 189-feet 7-inches which is 18th in Division III.
 
Wayt finished third overall and the top Division III athlete in the women's 800-Meters with a time of 2:17.77 which is ranked top 30 in Division III.
 
Miles was the top Division III athlete in the women's 200-Meters with a time of 25.57 which is top 30 in Division III currently.
 
Cameron Nightingale took home third overall in the men's pole vault with a leap of 14-feet 10.25-inches which would be tied for 20th but has a mark higher than that already.
 
Jessica Mason finished seventh overall and the fifth Division III athlete in the women's pole vault with a leap of 11-feet .25-inches which is ranked top 30 in Division III.
 
Vincent Giumenti was fourth overall and second among the Division III athletes in the men's 5,000-Meters running a 14:45.31 which is ranked top 30 in Division III.
 
Madeline Burgess was ninth overall and the fourth Division III athlete in the women's triple jump leaping 35-feet 10.75-inches which is ranked top 30.
 
Gianini Venuto finished sixth in the women's 5,000-Meters running a 17:45.50 which ranked top 30 in Division III.
 
Greenwood finished fourth and was the second Division III athlete in the men's 100-Meters with a time of 10.97.
 
Cale Borland and Curtis Joppeck finished fourth and fifth in the men's 1,500-Meters running times of 3:58.74 and 3:59.10.
 
Mount Union will now compete at the Wooster Invitation next Friday and Saturday.
