AKRON, Ohio – Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team finished in third place after the first day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at Ocasek Natatorium at the University of Akron on Thursday evening.
The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 177 which is 40 points ahead of fourth place Ohio Northern. John Carroll leads the event with a team score of 321.
All-OAC Finishers:
- 800-yard freestyle relay: team consisting of senior Emma Kreber (Cranberry Twp., Pa. / Seneca Valley), junior Isabelle Parr (Brunswick), senior Emily Hauck (Avon Lake) and junior Abby Calaway (Berea / Berea-Midpark) finished second with a time of 7:51.97
- 500-yard freestyle: Calaway won the event with a time of 5:11.19 and Kreber finished second with a time of 5:14.10

The Raiders are back in action again tomorrow for the second day of the OAC Championships at Ocasek Natatorium with prelims beginning at 10 a.m., diving at 2 p.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
