Men's Soccer: Six Raiders Selected to All-OAC Teams; Depperschmidt Named Defender of the Year

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team had six athletes named to All-Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Teams.

Junior Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) was named to the First Team and was also named Defender of the Year. Sophomore Amir Spratt (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) and junior Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) were also both First Team selections with seniors AJ Jaber (Massillon / Massillon Jackson) and Reese Utter (Dover). Senior Zander Plizga (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton) was the final Raider selected as he was named to the Third Team.

Depperschmidt played in 19 games and started in 18 for Mount Union, he led the team in goals with 13 and points with 31 on the season. He was also third on the team in assists with five.

Spratt played in all 20 games, starting 18 for the Raiders this season, he was second on the team in goals, scoring eight. He also ranked third on the team in assists with five and points with 21 on the season.

Kustura also played in all 20 games and started 18 for Mount Union this season. He led the team in assists with eight, was second on the team in points with 22 and third in goals, scoring seven on the season.

Jaber played and started in all 20 games for the Raiders this season. He recorded two assists on the season and anchored a Mount Union defense that held opponents to 1.55 goals per game this season.

Utter played and started in 18 games this season for Mount Union. He recorded six goals on the season with one assist and 13 points; he also controlled the midfield for the Raiders all season.

Plizga also played and started in all 20 games for the Raiders this season. He was second on the team in assists with six, while adding in two goals and 10 points on the season, while also helping control the midfield for Mount Union.
