ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's soccer team advanced to the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament semi-finals by defeating Baldwin Wallace 4-2 Tuesday night at Kehres Stadium in the OAC Quarterfinals.
Baldwin Wallace (7-12-2, 3-4-1) got on the board first with a goal five minutes into the first half. Both teams had a couple shots saved throughout the first half but two goals from
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) in the 39th and 45th minute closed out the first half for the Purple Raiders.
Mount Union (13-2-4, 5-1-2) came out of the second half and got two goals in the first seven minutes from
Braedon Kennedy (Strongsville) in the 49th and 52nd minute to take a 4-1 lead. Baldwin Wallace got one last goal in the 74th minute as Mount Union held off any comeback.
Mount Union will now head into the OAC Semifinals on Thursday, November 6th taking on Ohio Northern in Ada, Ohio at 7 pm.
