Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Ryan Kissinger (Mars, Pa./Mars) and Matt Furgiuele (Alliance/St. Thomas Aquinas) each had scored goals as the Mount Union men's soccer team posted a 2-0 victory over Washington & Jefferson Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium.
Kissinger's goal, his first of the season, came in the 23rd minute when he recieved a pass from Thomas Beck (Poland/Cardinal Mooney).
The Purple Raiders would score again the 61st minute on a foul called against the Presidents, Furgiuele would kick the ball from out of bounds and the ball would go over the goalies head.
The Presidents outshot the Raiders 16-14, while Dylan Lias (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) got the start and notched his first career shutout with eight saves.
Mount Union improves to 5-3 on the season while Washington & Jefferson falls to 3-4.
The Raiders next play Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against Allegheny in Meadville, Pa.
