WASHINGTON, D. C.—The Mount Union women's volleyball team split its final two games of the Worthington Classic hosted at Gallaudet University Saturday afternoon.
Mount Union (7-7) took down Mary Washington (3-11) 25-18, 18-25, 25-17 and 25-21 in the first match of the day.
Molly Mckee (North Ridgeville) and
Zoe Sweigart (Canal Winchester) finished with 12 kills each while
Sadie Thomas (Cambridge Springs, Pa. / Maplewood) finished with 11.
DeLani Durst (Clyde) and
Allie Gunn (Olmsted Falls / Magnificat) finished with double digit assists with 29 and 12 respectively.
Averi Haley (Orrville) finished with a game-high 17 digs with Durst picking up 13 while Thomas and
Sam Cantrell (Eastlake / Eastlake North) finished with 12 digs each.
Mount Union in the second match fell to Franklin and Marshall (11-2) in straight sets of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-21.
Sweigart led the way with nine kills, Durst and Gunn had 15 and 13 assists while Haley led the team in digs with 17.
Mount Union will take on John Carroll on Wednesday, September 24
th at 7 pm in the MAAC.
