Curtis Joppeck (New London) and
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) along with juniors
Ryan McVicker (Dover),
Stephen Ulrich (Louisville) and sophomore
Cameron Nightingale (Whitehouse / Anthony Wayne) have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams.
Giumenti is working on his Master of Business Administration with a 3.834 GPA and was a Mechanical Engineering undergrad major with a 3.880 GPA. Giumenti picked up the school record in the Mile during the indoor track season with a 4:08.58 and finished sixth overall at the NCAA Indoor Championship. He then finished 10
th overall at the Outdoor Championships in the 1,500-Meters. Giumenti is a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree and Academic All-District award winner.
McVicker is a history major with a GPA of 3.596. He competed in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championship, placing 12
th overall. McVicker is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree while being named to the Academic All-District for the first time.
Joppeck is working on his Master of Physical Therapy with a GPA of 3.919 while in undergrad was an exercise science major with a 3.759 GPA. Joppeck is a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree and Academic All-District award winner.
Ulrich is an accounting major with a GPA of 3.782. He competed in cross country and was a distance athlete on the track for the Purple Raiders. Ulrich is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree while being named to the Academic All-District for the first time.
Nightingale is an finance major with a GPA of 3.889. He was a pole vault athlete on the track and field team for Mount Union. Nightingale is on the Academic All-OAC honoree list and Academic All-District for the first time.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 16. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
