WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Mount Union's women's golf team finished in 28
th place after the second round of the NCAA Championship at Kingsmill Resort on Thursday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 670 (342-328), which was not good enough to make the cut so Mount Union's season comes to an end following the second round of the NCAA Championship. However, graduate student
Jocelyn Troyer (Sugarcreek / Garaway) did make the cut as an individual and participated in round three that took place after the conclusion of round two today.
Troyer led the way for Mount Union in round two, firing an even par 72, sophomore
Kamil Stephens (Marblehead / Danbury) also fired a round in the 70s, finishing with a 79. Senior
Madison Gruber (Louisville) carded an 87, with sophomore
Emma Packard (Ashland) finished with a 90 to round out the Raiders team score.
Mount Union finishes the season with seven tournament wins, including winning their first Ohio Athletic Conference Championship since 2019 and becoming just the second team in school history to have all five players earn All-OAC honors.
Troyer did compete as an individual in round three, she shot a 77 in round three to bring her 54-hole score to 224 which broke her own school record by six strokes. She currently sits in a tie for twentieth place and will play in the fourth and final round of the NCAA Championship tomorrow at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, where she will tee off at 11:10 a.m.
