ALLIANCE, Ohio—Mount Union women's lacrosse senior goalie Abby Lindkvist (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields) broke the career saves record in the second quarter of a 13-7 loss to No. 23 Nationally ranked Denison Thursday afternoon.

Lindkvist made career save 336 with 13:28 remaining in the second quarter as she passes Molly McGuiness for the most saves in Mount Union history.

The Purple Raiders (2-2) were led offensively by Reese Fuenfstueck and Ella Nejad (Rocky River) with three goals each.

Mae Pawlikowski (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park) finished with a goal while Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) picked up four assists.

On the defensive end Lindkvist made 12 saves in the game while Emma Labbe (Uniontown / Lake) finished with five caused turnovers.

No. 23 Denison (1-2) was led by Mary Martinson and Anna DeVuono with three goals while Julianne Henigan made 11 saves in 41 minutes of play.

Denison was the only team to score in the first quarter as they got four goals all within a 5:19 stretch in the middle of the quarter.

Denison got the first goal in the second quarter but a goal from Nejad got the Raiders back within four. Denison answered with two more to take a 7-1 lead but a Fuenfstueck goal made it 7-2. Denison added one more before the half taking an 8-2 halftime lead.

In the third quarter Denison would score first but another Fuenfstueck goal kept the lead at 6. Two goals from Denison was answered by the hat trick goal of Fuenfstueck as Mount Union trailed 10-4 after three quarters of play.

Denison began the fourth with three straight goals and looking for a fourth to make it a 10-goal lead but a save from Lindkvist kept the score at 13-4. Mount Union went on a 3-0 run to end the game as Nejad had two to earn her hat trick and Pawlikowski had her goal to end it as Mount Union just didn't have enough time to complete the comeback.
