Men's Volleyball: Raiders Drop Two Hard Fought Matches Against Top 25 Teams

ALLAIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's volleyball team battled to two tough loses to No. 7 Juniata and No. 14 Aurora Saturday afternoon.
 
In the first match of the day Mount Union (9-8) gave No. 14 Aurora (10-2) everything they had falling four sets 23-25, 25-27, 25-22 and 23-25.
 
Jack McClure (Massillon / Jackson) led the way with 20 kills while Michael Bowler (Broadview Heights / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) kept his hot week going with 13 kills on 26 swings.
 
Will Heeney (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) finished the match with 43 assists and 10 digs while Peyton Koszelak (Eden, N.Y. / Eden) finished with 11 digs.
 
Aurora was led by Josh McLellan with 19 kills, Logan Brouwer with 45 assists and Alex Nonhof with 10 digs.
 
In the second match of the day No. 7 Juniata (13-2) swept Mount Union 25-18, 25-22 and 25-21.
 
Bowler and McClure led the way with seven kills each, Heeney finished with 23 assists and Koszelak had 12 digs in the match.
 
Juniata was led by Chase Robbins with 16 kills, Grant Lorelli with 37 assists and Tyler Goldsborough with 10 digs.
 
Mount Union will now head into MCVL play heading to Adrian, Michigan to take on Adrian on Friday, February 21st with a 7 PM start time.
