Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team defeated Capital in Ohio Athletic Conference play 4-1 on Saturday evening at Kehres Stadium.
With the win Mount Union clinches the No. 4-seed and a home match on Tuesday, November 4
th at 7 pm in Alliance against the No. 5-seed Baldwin Wallace.
The Purple Raiders (12-2-4, 5-1-2 OAC) would break the scoreless tie when senior
Reese Utter (Dover) found the back of the net on a penalty kick in the 30th minute.
Mount Union added another goal with just 26 seconds remaining in the first half as junior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) found the bottom left of the net off an assist from
Frank Washburn.
Mount Union came out in the second half and scored two quick goals from sophomore
Keegan White (Columbus / Olentangy) scoring his first career goal in the 47th minute and sophomore
Amir Spratt (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) in the 59th minute taking a 4-0 lead as junior
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) and White each had an assist.
Capital (4-10-2, 3-4-1 OAC) would score a goal with five minutes remaining but would not get another as Mount Union would take the victory.
The Raiders are home again next Tuesday in the OAC Quarterfinals against Baldwin Wallace at 7 pm.
