Men's Swim and Dive: Raiders Dominate Berg in OAC Duel

TIFFIN, Ohio – Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team defeated Heidelberg 182-42 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Top Finishers
  • 200-yard medley relay: team consisting of senior Jacob Hathaway (Lexington), freshman Trey Nickoli (Lexington), freshman Ethan Harvey (Cleveland / St. Ignatius) and senior Lucas Starling (Lexington) won the event with a time of 1:38.20, while the team consisting of junior Angelo Lawrence (Mooresville, Ind. / Center Grove), freshman Brenton Fowler (Reynoldsburg), junior Daniel Claxton (Georgetown, Guyana / West Demerara Secondary), freshman Isaac Tennant (Coraopolis, Pa. / Moon) finished second with a time of 1:40.58
  • 1000-yard freestyle: freshmen Leo Iacovetta (Mayfield) and Michael Styn (Ellwood City, Pa. / Riverside) finished first and second 10:51.57 and 11:35.46
  • 200-yard freestyle: Harvey, senior Owen Zundell (Marietta) and freshman Joe Hathaway (Lexington) finished first, second and third with times of 1:51.51, 1:53.29, 1:56.62 respectively
  • 100-yard backstroke: Lawrence, freshman Jackson Hodkey (Mentor) and freshman Santi Salazar (Wooster) finished first, second and third with times of 55.28, 55.40 and 57.41
  • 100-yard breaststroke: Nickoli, Fowler and junior Mason Currier (North East, Pa.) finished first, second and third with times of 1:02.23, 1:05.29 and 1:05.51 respectively
  • 200-yard butterfly: Tennant won the event with a time of 2:07.25, while freshmen Paul Yorkievitz (Macedonia / Nordonia) and Logan Bass (Cincinnati / Indian Hill) finished second and third with times of 2:07.25 and 2:17.71 respectively
  • 50-yard freestyle: Hathaway and Starling finished first and second with times of 22.17 and 22.36 respectively
  • 100-yard freestyle: Harvey and Starling finished first and second with times of 48.31 and 49.67 respectively
  • 200-yard backstroke: Hathaway, Hodkey and Yorkievitz finished first, second and third with times of 1:58.75, 2:04.06 and 2:12.84 respectively
  • 200-yard breaststroke: Nickoli, junior AJ Quisno (Toledo / St. Francis De Sales) and Zundell finished first, second and third with times of 2:17.58, 2:21.90 and 2:28.93 respectively
  • 500-yard freestyle: Iacovetta won the event with a time of 5:04.03, while Tennant and Hathaway, Jo. finished second and third with times of 5:13.54 and 5:36.85 respectively
  • 100-yard butterfly: Harvey won the event with a time of 55.51
  • 400-freestyle relay: team consisting of freshman Nate Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Northgate), Zundell, Lawrence and Tennant finished first with a time of 3:24.31, while the team consisting of sophomore Andrew Popovic (Twinsburg), Hathaway, Jo., Salazar and Claxton finished second with a time of 3:24.67
The Raiders host Oberlin next for their home opener on Saturday, November 1 at 1 p.m. in Hammond Natatorium in Alliance.
