PORT CLINTON, Ohio – Mount Union's men's golf team finished in sixth place after the first round of the Region 5 Showcase at Catawba Island G.C. on Monday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 321 which is just one stroke back of fifth place Albion. Trine leads the event with a team score of 304.

Junior Brian Myers (Wadsworth) led the way for Mount Union with a 76, which has him in a tie for fourth place overall. Freshman Austin Wilhoit (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) also carded a round in the 70s, finishing with a 79. Freshman Austin Mariani (Kinsman / Badger) and sophomore Jax Rogers (Jeromesville / Hillsdale) rounded out the Raiders' team score with an 81 and 85 respectively.

The Raiders wrap up their fall season tomorrow with the final round of the Region 5 Showcase at Catawba Island G.C. in Port Clinton.
