PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania—The Mount Union women's volleyball team fell in four sets 22-25, 25-17, 21-25 and 20-25 to Ohio Wesleyan Friday night.
The Purple Raiders (8-3) were led by seniors
Heaven Bartell (Cleveland / St. Jospeh Academy) and
Darby Leininger (Chardon / Beaumont) with 13 kills each while sophomore
Riley Meister (Madison) finished with 10 kills.
Freshman
Cami Welty (Eastlake / Eastlake North) finished the night with two solo and five assisted blocks while sophomore
Ava Bolen (Wellsburg, W. Va. / Brooke) had four service aces.
Sophomore
Melissa Hansen (Hudson) and senior
Casey Kildow (Bethesda / Union Local) finished with 20 and 15 assists. Senior
Katelyn Lesko (Mineral Ridge) led Mount Union with 21 digs while Bartell picked up 17, sophomore Averi Hailey (Orrville) had 15 and Kildow finished with 11.
Ohio Wesleyan (7-6) was led by Megan Lantis with 16 kills, Lily Bechina with 40 assists and Bella Guzzetta with 19 digs.
Mount Union returns to the court tomorrow in Pittsburgh with games against Susquehanna at 1 PM and Carnegie Mellon at 5 PM.
