ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team dropped a non-conference matchup 3-1 against Grove City on Wednesday evening.
The Wolverines (2-1-1) struck first when Emma Herrmann was able to find the back of the net in the 28
th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Herrmann would net her second goal of the game in the 61
st minute to stretch the lead to two goals. Then, in the 71
st minute Grove City would add a third goal this time coming off the foot of Kiara White to make the lead 3-0.
The Purple Raiders (2-2) would answer with a goal of their own just over a minute late when freshman
Maddy Adams (Bowling Green) netted her first career goal off an assist from freshman
Rylee Hutton (Salem) to cut the lead down to two goals. However, that is as close as they would get as the Wolverines would go on to win 3-1.
The Raiders are home again next when they host Wittenberg on Saturday, September 14 at 1 p.m. in Kehres Stadium in Alliance.
