ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team was able to pick up a home win over Grove City (Pa.) 2-1, Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders (4-3-1) got on the board first after junior
Madison Pepper (Uniontown / Lake) scored off an assist from junior
Andrea Decker (Hillard / Hillard Bradley) in the 38
th minute.
The score then remained 1-0 until the 82
nd minute when the Wolverines (2-5) scored off a penalty kick by Tirzah Lloyd.
Then in the 87
th minute sophomore
Kaela Turle (Twinsburg) scored off a penalty kick to give the Raiders the 2-1 lead.
Freshman goalkeeper
Rylee Oldfield (Liberty Twp. / Lakota East) recorded five saves in the victory. This was Raiders first victory over the Wolverines since 2014, the Raiders had lost their previous five meetings with the Wolverines.
The Raiders return to action on Saturday, October 2 at 2 p.m. at Otterbein in Westerville, Ohio.
