Box Score NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Mount Union women's basketball team (8-4, 8-4 OAC) finished the season on eight straight wins after a victory against Muskingum (1-9, 1-9 OAC) Saturday night with a final score of 79-61at Performance Court.
Double-digit scorers for the Purple Raiders were senior Elena Rauhe (Seven Hills / Padua Franciscan) with 17, sophomore Emma Cannon (Dalton) with 12, junior Isi Palamone (Murrysville, Pa. Franklin Regional) with 12, and sophomore Kelsie Glass (Green) with 12.
The bench came alive for the Raiders as they secured 26 points on the night. The Raiders were 30 of 66 for field goals with 46 points coming from the paint.
Muskingum was led by Sarah Miller who had 14 points and four rebounds.
The Raiders had a slow start as they were outscored in the first quarter 19-11. They then chipped away at the Muskie lead throughout the second quarter and claimed their second lead of the game off a layup by Glass with 2:13 remaining in the half to make the score 33-32. They continued to outscore the Muskies 4-2 to go into halftime up three with a score of 37-34. The Raiders did not look back after capturing their late first-half lead as they outscored the Muskies 42-27 in the second half. The Raiders went on an 8-0 scoring run to start the fourth quarter and solidified their win with a final score of 79-61.
Mount Union wrapped up their 2021 regular season and will look to play on Tuesday, March 2 with a team and time to be determined at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
