ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union Women's Basketball team defeated Grove City (Pa.) 89-44 during their home opener Tuesday night.
The Purple Raiders (4-1) were led by Junior
Tess Conroy (Cuyahoga Heights) with 13 points, shooting eight for eleven.
Grace Knowlton (Newport / Frontier) added double digits as well with 10 points.
Sydney Opper (Howard /East Knox) and
Elizabeth Mason (Alliance / Marlington) each had six rebounds for the night.
Grove City (2-2) was led by Senior Reese Hasley with 15 points and five rebounds.
The Purple Raiders had an electric first quarter leading 21-12 and continued dominating with a 30-5 second quarter which put them up 51-17 at half. Mount Union had a strong second half defeating Grove City 89-44.
Mount Union had 16 different scorers while shooting 46.7% from the field and 40.0% from three while Grove City shot 27.4% from the field and 12.0% from the three.
Mount Union travels to Waynesburg Friday for the Waynesburg Classic taking on the hosts at 4:30 pm.
