ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team got back in the win column with a convincing 5-2 win at home over non-conference foe Geneva on Wednesday.
Mount Union (4-4) earned the doubles point as senior
Emily Peel (Green / Green) and junior
Emily Borchert (Richfield / Holy Name) won No. 2 doubles, 7-5, and senior
Chloe Bancroft (Madison / Madison) and sophomore
Marianna Farmakidis (Green / Green) won No. 3 doubles, 6-1.
The Raiders won the last four singles matches, led by Peel at No. 3 singles, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2, and Borchert at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
Sophomore
Hannah Neely (Hartville / Lake) won No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Farmakidis won No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-0.
Mount Union will next compete in Hilton Head, SC, starting with Western New England University on Tuesday, March 10, at 4:30 p.m.
