Men's Lacrosse: Raiders Open OAC Play With Victory

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team opened Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 17-10 victory over Wilmington Saturday afternoon at Kehres Stadium.
 
The Purple Raiders (5-3, 1-0 OAC) were led by Talon Osmun with six goals and three assists. Alec Feigel finished the day with four goals on just five shots for the Raiders.
 
Spencer Logsdon, Mason Discenza and Sly Sundown each added two goals each while Braylon Li finished the day with a goal.
 
Dylan Rondeau finished the game with six saves while Nikola Lopatka finished the game going 12 for 15 on the faceoff.
 
Wilmington (4-4, 0-1 OAC) was led by Nick Roca and Garrett Reigelsperger with three goals each while Skoebie Atkinson finished with 13 saves in goal.
 
Wilmington scored the first three goals of the game before Osmun connected on the Raiders first goal as Mount Union trailed 3-1 after the end of the first quarter.
 
Wilmington scored the first two goals of the second quarter before Mount Union finished on a 4-0 run as Feigel scored two goals and Sundown with Osmun each scored a goal to tie the game at five heading to halftime.
 
Mount Union got its first lead with a 3-0 run to start the third quarter as Osmun, Feigel and Discenza each got on the board with a goal. Wilmington scored a goal but Mount Union got a goal from Discenza and Osmun to take a 10-6 lead into the final quarter.
 
A goal from Logsdon, Sundown and Osmun got the Raiders going in the fourth quarter leading 13-6. A back and forth battle the rest of the way saw Wilmington get no closer than six as Feigel, Li, Logsdon, and Osmun each scored a goal the rest of the way.
 
Mount Union gets a week off until it returns to play at Kehres Stadium on Saturday at 1 pm taking on Otterbein.
