Men's Volleyball: Raiders Split Friday Matches In Chicago

CHICAGO, Illinois—Mount Union's men's volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday night at North Park University.
 
The Purple Raiders (6-4) swept North Park (1-8) 25-23, 26-24 and 25-23 in the first match of the day.
 
Leading Mount Union was Luke Pemberton (Jackson) with 18 kills and Sam Morrison (St. Peters, MO / Fort Zumwalt South) with 10 kills.
 
Justin Peters (Pittsburgh, PA / Canon-McMillan) finished the match with a game-high 29 assists while Peyton Koszelak (Eden, N.Y.) finished with 11 digs.
 
North Park was led by Adekunle Adebayo with 10 kills, Gino Hamoy with 10 assists and Zachary Hayden with 13 digs.
 
In the second match of the night Mount Union fell in straight sets, 25-23, 25-22 and 25-20, to Aurora (Ill.) (4-2).
 
Mount Union was led by Pemberton with 15 kills with just two errors on 20 swings for a hitting percentage of .650 while Michael Bowler (Broadview Heights / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) finished with nine kills just one error on 13 swings for a hitting percentage of .615.
 
Peters led the way in assists with 25 while Koszelak had eight digs.
 
Aurora was led by SJ Nelson with 15 kills and six digs while Luke Dwyer had 21 assists.
 
Mount Union will remain in the Chicago area taking on Concordia Chicago at 1 PM ET in River Forrest, Ill. and then travel to Dominican University (Ill.) with a 5 PM ET start.
