WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Mount Union junior pitcher
Ty Dennison (Hudson, Ohio / Hudson) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Pitcher of the Week for his masterpiece on the mound in the Purple Raiders' season-opening win over Alfred State in Indianapolis on Saturday.
Dennison, earning the first OAC Weekly Award of his career, struck out a career-high 10 and only allowed one hit over six innings, helping Mount Union secure the first win of its three-game series sweep over Alfred State.
Mount Union travels to Fayetteville, N.C., next weekend for the Armstrong Invitational hosted by Methodist University. The Raiders are scheduled to play a doubleheader against Hobart on Saturday, Feb. 21, starting at 11 a.m.
