WOOSTER, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team lost to Wooster 3-2 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (5-1-1) would get on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead after a Wooster own goal in the 27
th minute.
The Fighting Scots (6-0-2) would tie the game at a goal apiece in the 44
th minute, scoring off the foot of Evan Amend. Mount Union would then reclaim the lead in the 59
th minute when junior
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) scored on a penalty kick to take a 2-1 lead.
Wooster would answer once again in the 68
th minute when Connor Shea was able to find the back of the net to tie the game at two. The Scots would then take their first lead of the game in the 81
st minute when Elliot Miller was able to score to take a 3-2 lead.
Mount Union wouldn't be able to find the equalizer over the final nine minutes of action as Wooster would go on to win 3-2.
The Raiders are on the road again next when they travel to Erie, Pa. to take on Penn State-Behrend on Wednesday, September 24 at 7 p.m.
