Five Raiders Selected to CSC Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Mount Union duo golfers grad student Jocelyn Troyer (Sugarcreek / Garaway) and senior Madison Gruber (Louisville) along with three women's lacrosse players in senior Emily Funk (Strongsville) and juniors Ella Nejad (Rocky River) and Delaney Brown (Butler, Pa. / Butler Area) have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's At Large Team.
 
Troyer helped the Purple Raiders win the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship for the first time since 2019 this spring and finished second overall in the OAC. Troyer then made the cut at the NCAA Championships finishing 26th overall and posting a four-round total of 301 which broke both the 54 and 72-hole scoring records. Troyer is a two-time Academic All-OAC award winner and this is her first CSC Academic All-District award.
 
Gruber helped the Purple Raiders win the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship this spring finishing sixth overall shooting a 338. Gruber is a three-time Academic All-OAC award winner and two-time CSC Academic All-District award.
 
Nejad was selected to the All-OAC first team as an attacker starting all 19 games. She finished with a team-high 69 goals and was second on the team in draw controls with 71 and points with 83. Nejad earned her second Academic All-OAC award and CSC Academic All-District award this season.
 
Brown was selected to the All-OAC first team as a defender playing in all 19 games and starting 18. She finished the season with 24 ground balls and had 15 caused turnovers. Brown earned her second Academic All-OAC award and CSC Academic All-District award this season.
 
Funk played in 18 games and started in 17 for Mount Union. She finished with 23 goals and 16 assists. Funk is a three-time Academic All-OAC award winner and picked up her first Academic All-District award.
 
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 8. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
