BEREA, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team won convincingly, 6-1, at Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) foe Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday.
The Purple Raiders swept doubles, led by the duo of juniors
Amelia Francisco (Canfield, Ohio / Canfield) and
Emily Peel (Green, Ohio / Green) with a no. 1 victory, 6-4.
Mount Union won five of the six singles, led by Francisco who won at no. 1, 6-2, 6-2. Freshman
Jillian Lohnes (Alliance, Ohio / Alliance) won at no. 3 (6-3, 6-1), sophomore
Emily Borchert (Richfield, Ohio / Holy Name) won at no. 4 (6-4, 7-5), freshman
Hannah Neely (Hartville, Ohio / Lake) won at no. 5 (6-1, 6-0), and freshman
Marianna Farmakidis (Green, Ohio / Green) won at no. 6 (6-2, 6-1).
The Raiders' regular season finale is scheduled for Saturday, April 26 as they host Ohio Northern at 1 p.m.
