ALLIANCE, Ohio— The University of Mount Union Athletics Department announced a new logo brand following extensive research and collaboration.

The Purple Raiders' new brand now includes primary and secondary logos, along with wordmarks and sport-specific logos - all created with these key Mount Union athletics pillars at the forefront: exceptional, edge, grit, strong, and tradition.

"What an exciting time to be a Purple Raider," said Director of Athletics Mike Parnell. "I would like to thank CLC and the Mount Union marketing team for helping us work through this process with input from coaches, student-athletes, alumni, and staff. Our athletic branding across all sports needed a more consistent image to represent the rich history and forward vision of Mount Union athletics. This new approach simplifies and aligns our identity across all of our sports programs with a renewed focus on excellence."

The introduction of the sword, crest, and script logos complements Mount Union's block-M, honoring tradition while propelling the institution into the future. The focus of the project was to build upon an established brand rooted in tradition while resharpening its sword, looking ahead with the same championship mindset.

Mount Union partnered with Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the nation's leading collegiate licensing company. CLC is a dynamic, innovative collegiate licensing agency, resulting from the merger of two industry pioneers, IMG College Licensing and Learfield Licensing Partners. CLC continues to be the driving force in collegiate licensing and is at the forefront of every evolution of the market. CLC has been the University's primary licensing vendor for decades.

The new brand will be rolled out in phases as it is integrated into the athletic facilities, added to team uniforms, and implemented throughout social media and web platforms. Apparel and merchandise with the new brand will be available in the campus University Store and the Mount Union Athletics Online Sideline Store will be available soon.
