Men's Lacrosse: Fish Fry; Raiders Dominate Muskingum in OAC Victory

NEW CONCORD, Ohio—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team defeated Muskingum 16-7 in Ohio Athletic Conference play Wednesday night.
 
The Purple Raiders (7-2, 1-1 OAC) were led by Talon Osmun (Mattawan, Mich. / Mattawan) with six goals and an assist and Spencer Logsdon (Akron / Archbishop Hoban) with four goals and two assists.
 
Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) and Braylon Li (Richfield / Revere) each scored two goals while Mark Zusman (Willoughby / Willoughby South) and Grant Dunmire (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton) had a goal each.
 
Logan North (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) won 14 of 21 faceoffs and had six ground balls while Logan Gunderman (Buffalo, N.Y. / Hamburg) made 13 saves.
 
Muskingum (4-6, 1-1 OAC) was led by Tyler Workman with three goals while Jeremy Hollow finished with 13 saves in goal.
 
Mount Union jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first two minutes and then scored three more before the end of the quarter taking a 6-0 lead into the break.
 
The second quarter began with two Muskingum goals but Mount Union responded with three goals to end the quarter as the Raiders led 9-2 at the halftime break.
 
Muskingum began the third quarter with three goals this time but a 5-0 run from Mount Union pushed the lead out to 14-5 until a late goal in the quarter for Muskingum reduced the lead down to eight.
 
Mount Union put the game away scoring the first two goals in the fourth quarter taking a 16-6 lead with Muskingum scoring a goal late once again to end the game.
 
Mount Union will now head to Wilmington, Ohio on Saturday with the game beginning at 1 PM.
