Men's Lacrosse: Raiders Take Down Hanover in First Game of Spring Break Trip

HANOVER, Indiana—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team used a big first half taking down Hanover 24-6 Thursday afternoon in non-conference play.
 
The Purple Raiders (5-0) were led by Grant Dunmire (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton), Talon Osmun (Mattawan, Mich. / Mattawan) and Noah Grigson (Portsmouth, R.I. / Bishp Stang) with three goals each.
 
Spencer Logsdon (Akron / Archbishop Hoban), Mark Zusman (Willoughby / Willoughby South), Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) and Alec Feigel (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) each scored two goals.
 
Vinny Marszalek (Angola, N.Y. / LakeShore), Sean Hanson (Fairfax, Va. / W.T. Woodson), Aiden Mays (St. Vincent St. Mary / Akron), Braylon Li (Richfield / Revere), Dylan Lulow (Painesville / Riverside), Henry Schenk (Mentor) and Todd Siford (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Shaler) each scored a goal for Mount Union.
 
Logan Gunderman (Buffalo, N.Y. / Hamburg) made nine saves in goal for the Raiders while Josh Pasco and Lulow picked up three ground balls while Alec Blazer and Hanson caused three turnovers.
 
Hanover (5-2) was led by Colin O'Brien with three goals, Leonard Hughes caused turnovers and in goal for Hanover was Lance Guttormson making four saves and Matthew Hillard making eight saves.
 
Mount Union got going with an Osmun goal, but Hanover responded with a goal. Mount Union proceeded to score the final five goals in the quarter as Dunmire, Grigson, Osmun, Erwin and Zusman each scored a goal.
 
The Raiders started the second quarter on a 5-1 run with Logsdon scoring two goals and Marszalek, Dunmire and Feigel each got a goal to lead 11-2. Hanover got one last goal before the half as Mount Union took an 11-3 lead into halftime.
 
Hanover got the first goal of the third quarter, but Mount Union responded with a 9-0 run as Grigson had two goals and then scoring a goal each was Dunmire, Zusman, Hanson, Mays, Li, Osmun and Erwin taking a 20-4 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
Mount Union outscored Hanover 4-2 in the final quarter as Lulow, Feigel, Schenk and Siford each scored for Mount Union.
 
Mount Union will now travel to Lexington, Kentucky to take on Transylvania at 3 PM tomorrow Friday, March 14th.
