JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Three standout Mount Union football players were named on the 2025 AP Division III All-America Football teams.
Senior OL Giovanni Kennedy (Avon, OH/St. Edward) and senior DL Kaleb Brown (La Plata, MD/La Plata) were both named on the First Team. Senior CB Kosta Thrasivoulou (North Ridgeville, OH/North Ridgeville) was named on the Second Team.
Kennedy, earning his second All-America honor this season and fourth of his career, anchored the Mount Union offensive line that led the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) in scoring (43.5 ppg.) and total offense (476.0 ypg.). The Purple Raiders were top-15 in multiple categories in NCAA Division III, including scoring offense (tied 13th), total offense (14th), and rushing offense (14th). He also earned 2025 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coaches All-America First Team honor. This is the second straight year for Kennedy to be named First Team All-America by the AP.
Brown, earning his second All-America recognition for the 2025 season and first career First Team selection, led the team and the conference in both sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (17.5), totaling double-digit sacks for the second year in a row. He led a defense that was sixth in NCAA Division III in scoring defense, allowing only 12.2 points per game. Brown was named the OAC Defensive Lineman of the Year while earning All-OAC First Team for the second straight year. Brown was named on the 2025 AFCA Second Team. This marks the third total All-America honor for Brown.
Thrasivoulou, earning his first career All-American honor, led NCAA Division III with 21 total passes defended, including a nation-high 17 break-ups to go along with a team-high four interceptions. His team-high 51 solo tackles were second in the OAC.
Mount Union (11-1) won its 36th (ninth straight) OAC title and sealed its 34th undefeated regular season. The Purple Raiders advanced to the NCAA Playoffs for an NCAA record 37th time.
