WESTERVILLE, Ohio—Junior
Savannah Dennison (Mentor) won the Ohio Athletic Conference women's cross country championship Saturday afternoon with a time of 22:09.4 over the 6k course.
Dennison becomes just the fifth Purple Raider to win the title and the first since Catie Campbell did in 2014.
Dennison also led the Raiders to a third place team finish with 56 total points just 11 behind second place Otterbein. Ohio Northern won the meet with a team score of 31.
Ashely Cooper (Mentor) joined Dennison as a first team All-OAC honoree with an eighth place finish with a time of 22:59.2.
Mount Union grabbed four second team All-OAC honorees with
Taylor Hennessey (Madison) (12th),
Marah Bethel (Barnesville) (17th),
Ava Hartman (Lindhurst / Beaumont) (18th) and
Zoe Seabeck (Concord / Painesville / Riverside) (19th). Hennessey ran a 23:15.4, Bethel with a 23:33.8, Hartman ran a 23:36.7 and Sebeck finished in 23:38.6.
Gabby D'Amico (Painesville / Riverside) rounded out the top seven with a 23rd place finish with a time of 23:45.2.
Mount Union will next compete at the Great Lakes Regional hosted by Spalding at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, November 15th.
