ALLIANCE, Ohio—Mount Union's men's volleyball team swept Buffalo State 25-23, 25-21 and 27-25 Friday night in non-conference play.
The Purple Raiders (7-4) were led by
Jack McClure (Massillon / Jackson) with 11 kills and 13 digs while
Jacob Nussdorfer (Liberty Center / Olentangy) finished the night with eight kills.
Will Heeney (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) finished the game with 29 assists while
Peyton Koszelak (Eden, N.Y. / Eden) had a game-high 14 digs.
Buffalo State (3-6) was led by Gavin Wilczewski with 14 kills, Jackson Stang with 35 assists and Alex Vega with 11 digs.
Buffalo State had a slight edge in kills with 37 compared to Mount Union's 36 and both teams had 17 hitting errors but Mount Union had 13 less attempts leading to a better hitting percentage of .194 compared to .180.
Mount Union had more service aces three-to-one and had fewer serving errors 12-to-18 for Buffalo State.
Mount Union will take the rest of the weekend off and return to play on Tuesday, February 4th heading to Erie, Pa. to take on Penn State Behrend at 7 PM.
