BEAVER FALLS, Pennsylvania—The Mount Union men's volleyball team swept Geneva, 25-15, 25-20 and 25-18, on Tuesday night.
The Purple Raiders (3-1) were led by seniors
Jacob Nussdorfer (Lewis Center / Olentangy) and
Aaron Armour (Waukesha, Wis. / Catholic Memorial) with six kills each.
Max Kaiser (Lewis Center / Olentangy) led the way in assists with 21,
Peyton Koszelak (Eden, N.Y. / Eden) with nine digs and
Michael Bowler (Broadview Heights / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) with four total blocks.
Geneva (0-1) was led by Owen Kelley with nine kills, Colton Alfaro with 22 assists and Alfaro with seven digs.
In the first set Mount Union had 11 kills and just two hitting errors for a hitting percentage of .409 while Geneva had nine kills with 10 errors for a -.037 hitting percent.
The second set saw 12 kills for Mount Union with another two hitting errors for a .476 hitting percentage while Geneva hit .214 with 13 kills and seven errors.
The final set saw Mount Union with 13 kills but seven hitting errors for a .194 hitting percentage while Geneva was negative once again as they had five kills and nine hitting errors.
Mount Union will head to Grantham, PA competing in the Messiah Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
