Women's Soccer: Raiders Edge Chatham for Road Win

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Mount Union's women's soccer team defeated Chatham 1-0 in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening.

The Purple Raiders (1-1) broke the scoreless draw in the 80th minute when senior Jillian Pidgeon (Homeworth / West Branch) found the back of the net off an assist from junior Lauran Bailey (St. Paris / Graham) to take a 1-0 lead.

The Cougars (2-1) didn't have an answer over the final 10 minutes of action as Mount Union would go on to win 1-0.

Senior goalkeeper Rylee Oldfield (Liberty Twp. / Lakota East) recorded four saves in her first shutout victory of the season.

The Raiders are on the road again next when they travel to Steubenville to take on Franciscan on Saturday, September 7 at 3:30 p.m.
