Men's Soccer: Raiders Shutout Wooster in Non-conference Matchup

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team defeated Wooster 2-0 in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening.

The Purple Raiders (6-3) would break the scoreless tie in the 55th minute when fifth-year Adam Kalvitz (Avon) scored on a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead. Mount Union would then add an insurance goal in the 77th minute when freshman Amir Spratt (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) found sophomore Mason Lightfritz (Orlando, Fla. / Lake Brantley) for his first career goal to make the lead two goals.

The Fighting Scots (5-3-1) wouldn't have an answer over the final 13 minutes of game time as the Raiders would go on to win 2-0.

Senior goalkeeper Lucas Fields (West Chester / Lakota East) recorded five saves en route to his second shutout victory of the season.

The Raiders hit the road next when they travel to Cleveland to take on Case Western Reserve on Saturday, September 28 at 1:30 p.m.
