Men's Lacrosse: Raiders Drop OAC Opener

BEXLEY, Ohio—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team dropped its Ohio Athletic Conference opener 21-8 to Capital Saturday afternoon.
 
The Purple Raiders (4-5, 0-1 OAC) were led by the trio of Alex Feigel (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills), Grant Dunmire (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton) and Obrigh Tallchief (Angola, N.Y. / LakeShore) with two goals each. Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) and Braylon Li (Richfield / Revere) each had a goal for Mount Union as well.
 
Logan North (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) led the Purple Raiders in ground balls with four while Stephen Moschetta (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Trinity) was in goal making 18 saves.
 
Capital (2-6, 1-0 OAC) was led by Ty Chase and Mason Spaulding with four goals each. Luc Kadlic was in goal making eight saves for Capital.
 
FIRST QUARTER
Capital began the game scoring the first six goals of the game. Tallchief stopped the scoring run with a goal with 1:51 remaining in the quarter. Capital got another goal, but Feigel responded with a goal as Mount Union trailed 7-2 at the quarter break.
 
SECOND QUARTER
Capital outscored Mount Union 5-1 in the quarter as Dunmire was the long goal for the Raiders as Mount Union trailed 12-3 at the halftime break.
 
THIRD QUARTER
Li got the scoring going for Mount Union first in the third quarter with a goal at 12:41 remaining but once again Capital responded with a 4-0 run to take a 16-4 lead. Mount Union finished the quarter out on a 2-1 run with a goal from Feigel and Tallchief going into the third quarter.
 
FORUTH QUARTER
Capital scored the first four goals of the quarter, but Mount Union finished with the last two goals as Erwin and Dunmire each had a goal.
 
 Mount Union will now return for a home OAC matchup with Heidelberg on Friday at 1 PM.
