ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's volleyball team dropped the first set and then ran away with the final three sets to take the Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Baldwin Wallace Wednesday night.
The Purple Raiders (17-7, 5-1 OAC) dropped set one 25-18 and then took the final three sets over Baldwin Wallace (13-11, 2-4 OAC) 25-16, 25-15, and 25-15.
Senior
Alexis Meyer (Avon Lake) led the way with 14 kills with a hitting percentage of .364. She was joined by seniors
Darby Leininger (Chardon / Beaumont) and
Heaven Bartell (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy with 12 and 11 kills.
Senior
Casey Kildow (Bethesda / Union Local) and sophomore
Melissa Hansen (Hudson) finished with 25 and 20 assists.
Bartell along with sophomore
Averi Haley (Orrville) finished with 15 digs each while Kildow and Hansen had 13 and 11.
Sophomore
Ava Bolen (Wellsburg, W. Va. / Brooke) led the Raider block with five while Leininger and freshman
Cami Welty (Eastlake / Eastlake North) finished with four blocks.
Baldwin Wallace was led by Sydney Simonson with 13 kills, Katarina Blazetic with 37 assists and 15 digs.
Mount Union now will take on Ohio Northern Saturday at home at 1 PM.
