ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's lacrosse team lost to John Carroll 25-6 on senior night Wednesday night in Kehres Stadium.
Mount Union's seven seniors celebrated were Eli Ciotti (Canonsburg, Pa./Linsly), Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa./Canon-McMilan), Isaac Kinaitis (Uniontown/Green), Logan Addonizio (Wixom, Mich./Walled Lake Western), Will Bunting (Huntingtown, Md./Huntington), Ryan Shank (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler, and Aaron Czech (York, Pa./Central).
The Purple Raiders (6-8, 3-4 OAC) were led by sophomore Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y./Victor Senior) with three goals. Gebhart and Ciotti scored one each while sophomore Grant Dunmire (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton) scored his loan goal.
John Carroll (10-2, 6-1 OAC) was led by Colin Morrissey with seven goals.
In the first quarter, Mount Union managed to score two goals, coming from Erwin and Ciotti. John Carroll finished the quarter with four goals to take a 4-1 lead.
In the second quarter, Erwin was able to score one goal to John Carroll's seven. The Raiders were down 11-3 at halftime.
In the second half, the Raiders were outscored by John Carroll 14-3 to close out the game as the final whistle blows.
Mount Union's next game is in Westerville s as they take on Otterbein Saturday at 1 pm.
