ALLIANCE, Ohio—
Logan Gebhart notched his 100th career goal in the third quarter of Saturday's 16-13 loss to Capital in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
The Purple Raiders (3-7, 0-3 OAC) were led by Gebhart with five goals on the day while
Connor Addison had three and
Grant Dunmire added two.
Liam Erwin,
Logan Addonizio and
Ben Jones each added a goal as well as Addonizio getting four assists.
Goalie
Logan Gunderman made 19 saves in the cage while also leading the team in ground balls with five.
Capital (8-2, 3-0 OAC) was led by Jake Belt with five goals. Sam McInturnf finished with 12 saves in goal for Capital.
Mount Union got off to a hot start with a 4-2 lead after the first quarter as Addonizio, Addison, Gebhart and Dunmire each got a goal.
The second quarter saw Mount Union's lead grow with a goal each from Jones, Gebhart and Erwin to lead 7-2. Capital used a 4-1 run, with Gebahrt scoring for Mount Union, to get within two at the halftime break as Mount Union led 8-6.
The start of the second half saw a goal from Addison and Gebhart to put the Raiders back up 10-6. A 4-2 run from Capital closed the score to 12-10 as Gebhart and Addison once again scored. A goal from Dunmire put the Raiders up 13-10 going into the final quarter.
Capital scored all six goals in the final quarter to take the victory 16-13.
Mount Union remains home as they take on Muskingum on Wednesday, April 5th at 7 p.m.
