Raiders Downed by Wooster

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team lost a non-conference matchup to Wooster 2-0 on Wednesday night.

The Fighting Scots (4-2-2) struck first when Naomi Mann was able to find the back of the net in the fifth minute to take a 1-0 lead. Wooster would add to their lead in the 80th minute when Grace Gascoigne netted one giving the Scots a 2-0 lead.

The Purple Raiders' (3-1-2) best chances at scoring came off of shots by senior Lauren Francescone (Olmsted Falls) and sophomore Jillian Pidgeon (Homeworth / West Branch).

Sophomore goalkeeper Rylee Oldfield (Liberty Twp. / Lakota East) recorded four saves in the game.

The Raiders hit the road next when they travel to Springfield, Ohio to take on Wittenberg on Saturday, September 24 at 1 p.m.
