ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team defeated Heidelberg 3-1 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday night.
The Purple Raiders (5-2-3, 2-1-0 OAC) struck first when junior
Emily Beach (Gahanna / Gahanna Lincoln) found senior
Madison Pepper (Uniontown / Lake) for a goal to take a 1-0 lead in the 12
th minute.
Mount Union would add to their lead in the 51
st minute when Pepper found the back of the net for her second goal of the game.
The Student Princes (5-4-2, 1-2-0 OAC) would cut the lead down to a goal in the 73
rd minute when Audrey Kaufman was able to find the back of the net.
Then, in the 86
th minute Pepper found the net again for her third goal of the night, this time off an assist from senior
Andrea Decker (Hilliard / Hilliard Bradley) and recorded her first career hat trick.
The Raiders are back home next when they take on Marietta on Wednesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
