COLUMBUS, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team lost to Capital 4-1 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday night.
The Comets (8-2-2, 4-0-1 OAC) struck first when Nicole Ogden found the back of the net in the 18
th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Capital would add to their lead in the 30
th minute this time off a goal by Catherine Zugaro.
The Comets extended their lead to three goals in the 46
th minute when Ogden scored her second goal of the night. Capital would add a fourth goal in the 55
th minute this time off the foot of Grace Estes.
The Purple Raiders (6-3-3, 3-2-0 OAC) got on the board in the 78
th minute when freshman
Addyson Jones (Homeworth / West Branch) scored her first career goal off an assist from junior
Emily Beach (Gahanna / Gahanna Lincoln) to cut the lead to 4-1. It wouldn't be enough though as Capital would go on to win 4-1.
The Raiders hit the road again next when they travel to New Concord, Ohio to take on Muskingum on Wednesday, October 19 at 7 p.m.
