Box Score ADA, Ohio – Mount Union's men's lacrosse team lost 18-6 at Ohio Northern in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
Mount Union sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Reihner (Scranton, Pa. / Scranton Prep) made 16 saves which give him a school record of saves in a season with 186.
The Purple Raiders (7-6, 5-4 OAC) got two goals each from Matt Bisono (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Alek Kungle (Hartville / Lake), while Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) and Alex Ellison (Uniontown / Lake) each had a goal.
Cameron Marous and Pat Berthelsen both scored four goals to lead Ohio Northern (7-5, 6-3 OAC).
Kungle got Mount Union on the board first 5:31 in the game, but Ohio Northern responded with four unanswered goals. Bisono gave the Raiders their second goal in the first quarter with 1:09 left and the Polar Bears led 4-2.
Northern opened the second quarter with three straight goals to push the lead to 7-2. Both teams each scored three goals the rest of the quarter with Kungle, Bisono, and Ellison scoring for Mount Union as they trailed 10-5 at the break.
Mount Union scored only once in the second half while Ohio Northern tacked on five in the third quarter and three in the fourth for the 18-6 final.
The Raiders will play in the OAC Tournament for the first time since 2014 in a first round game Tuesday at a site and time to be announced.
