ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's lacrosse team defeated Baldwin Wallace 21-10 win in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Wednesday night at Mount Union Stadium.

Mount Union's attack was led by the trio of senior Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calf. / Newbury Park) with six goals, junior Mackenzie Lewis (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) scoring five and freshman Katie Clark (Cuyahoga Falls / Walsh Jesuit) scoring five goals and four assists.

Deanna Loukas and Maddie Ray both had three goals for Baldwin Wallace (1-8, 1-8 OAC).

Mount Union (8-1, 8-1 OAC) and Baldwin Wallace exchanged goals to a 3-3 tie just nine minutes into the game. Bumbarger scored two of the goals with Clark scoring the other goal for the Purple Raiders.

A 3-0 Mount Union run with two goals by Bumbarger again and a Clark goal with two assists to sophomore Same Karr (Newark Charter, Del. / Newark Charter) and one assist to sophomore Julia Bates (East Lyme, Conn. / East Lyme) gave the Raiders a 6-3 lead.

Baldwin Wallace went on a 2-1 run with Lewis scoring in the middle of the Baldwin Wallace goals assisted by senior Kaitlyn Murphy (Lexington, Va. / Rockbridge County).

Mount Union scored the final seven goals in the last 5:30 minutes of the first half. Lewis scored three in the run while Murphy, Bumbarger, Karr and Clark all scored one goal. Clark had three assists on the goals and Bates had two assists.

Baldwin Wallace had the first goal of the second half but a 6-0 run by Mount Union gave the Raiders a 20-6 lead with 16:31 remaining in the game. Freshman Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) scored two goals in the run and Bumbarger, Lewis, Clark and freshman Ashley Carr (Livonia, N.Y. / Livonia) all scored one goal. Clark, Carr and Bumbarger all assisted to one goal in that run as well.

Clark grabbed one more goal for the Raiders assisted by Emily Nannarone (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) in the middle of a 4-1 run to end the game by Baldwin Wallace.

Senior goalkeeper Molly McGinnis (Brunswick) had seven saves in 49 minutes while sophomore goal keeper Shyanna White (Massillon / Massillon Jackson) made three saves in the final 11 minutes.

Mount Union next hosts Ohio Northern in an OAC game Saturday, April 3 at 1 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
