Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's lacrosse team suffered a 18-9 loss against Grove City (Pa.) Wednesday night at Mount Union Stadium.
Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) led Mount Union scoring three goals while Alek Kungle (Hudson) and Alex Ellison (Uniontown / Lake) posted two goals as the Purple Raiders fall to 4-3 on the season.
Henry Brannan scored nine goals and Michael La Forte posted eight assists for Grove City (2-2).
Mount Union scored first 15 seconds into the game on a goal from Sean O'Loughlin (Hudson). Grove City tied the game up a minute later. The Raiders regained the lead off a Gebhart goal. Grove City tied it up again this time just 40 seconds later. An Isaac Kinaitis (Uniontown / Green) goal with 4:50 left in the first quarter gave Mount Union a 3-2 lead. Grove city answered with two goals. The Raiders got a goal with three seconds left by Ellison.
Grove City came out in the second quarter and outscored Mount Union 6-1 to lead 10-5 at halftime.
Grove City kept the pressure on the Raiders outscoring then 3-2 in the third quarter. Mount Union got the first goal in the fourth quarter from Alek Kungle (Hartville / Lake) but five straight goals by Grove City ended any comeback by Mount Union
Mount Union next plays Saturday, Mar. 14 at 1 p.m. at home against Oberlin.
