ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union head women's lacrosse coach Emily Fisher won her 100th game as a head coach in a 14-9 win over Oberlin Wednesday at Mount Union Stadium.

Fisher is now 100-15 as the only coach in the seven-year history of the Purple Raider program.

Ashley Bernardi (Medina) scored six goals and Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calif.) had five goals and three assists to pace a Mount Union team that is now 5-1 on the season.

Sabrina Deleonibus had two goals and an assist to lead Oberlin (2-3).

Bernardi started the scoring with a goal just 39 seconds into the game, but Oberlin then scored three times over the next 10 minutes to take a 3-1 lead. Bernardi scored again at the 15:20 mark to make it 3-2 then Oberlin got the goal back 1:19 later to lead 4-2. Mount Union then retook the lead with four consecutive goals scored by Brenna Duke (Hollywood, Md. / Leonardtown), Bumbarger and two by Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) as the Raiders led 6-4 at the break.

Bernardi would make it 8-4 with a pair of goals in the first 2:06 of the second half. Oberlin would stop the 6-0 Raider run with a goal with just under 26 minutes to play to make it 8-5. Mount Union went up 9-5 just 16 seconds later as Bumbarger scored a man-up goal. Oberlin scored again to bring the score to 9-6 with 20:25 left but Bernardi put two more goals on the board to give the Raiders an 11-6 lead with 15:36 to play.

The teams then traded goals as Oberlin scored with 15:31 to play then Mount Union got one from Rohrman with just over 11 minutes left. The Raiders took their largest lead of the game, 13-7, when Bumbarger scored with 8:48 to play in the game. Oberlin rallied with two goals to close to 13-9 with four minutes left but Bumbarger tallied her fifth goal of the night to finish the scoring for Mount Union and make it 14-9.

Mount Union next opens Ohio Athletic Conference play Saturday at 1 p.m. at Otterbein in Westerville.
