Women's Volleyball: Career Highs Lead Mahnke-Morrison to 100th Win

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Mount Union's women's volleyball team defeated Capital in a five-set match Saturday afternoon to give Coach Melissa Mahnke-Morrison her 100th career win.

Mahnke-Morrison is in her fifth year as head coach after spending five years as an assistant coach. The North Royalton, Ohio, native is still the program's career kills leader with 1.604 from 2006-2009.

The Purple Raiders improved their record to 19-6 and 4-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. 

Four Raiders logged double digit kills in the 20-25, 25-15, 25-13, 24-26, 15-7 victory. Leading the way for Mount Union was junior Breanna Arnett (Peninsula / Woodridge) who recorded a career-high 21 kills. Arnett was not the only Raider with a career high as freshman setter Katie May (Independence) tallied 56 assists. 

Defensively Mount Union was dominant with four Raiders, once again, in double digits for digs. Freshman Alyssa Kasaris lead the way with a team-high 16 digs. Present at the net was senior Marlee Peck (Homeworth / Marlington) who recorded five blocks. 

The Raiders continue OAC play hosting Marietta Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.
